About Us

The Bath and North East Somerset Dementia Action Alliance (DAA) was initiated by Dementia Friends Champion Sarah Williams-Martin in 2016. Together with others she identified a need to support people living with dementia in their community and their carers by educating others on how to become more dementia friendly. With the help of lots of dedicated volunteers we created a vision to make B&NES dementia friendly. We hope this website acts as a place where reassurance, opportunities, advice, support and knowledge can be accessed in one place. We are now a fully fledged charity working with businesses and organisations to help make them more dementia friendly so that people with dementia and their carers can live longer and better in their community. The B&NES Dementia Action Alliance is attempting to create a community-wide response to dementia.
